I am Sylvia Nalubega, a Global Fund for Women-supported activist in Uganda. I want the public to know that women are very eager to take part in the development processes, to take part in decisions that are made concerning not only their lives but their communities and their nations. ARUWE Uganda teaches rural women about their health, land, and economic rights. We have seen women improve their communication skills, their interpersonal skills, and be more aware of their rights. One of our women was actually elected to be a chairperson of a district land board, the first woman in that position. And we are seeing that more and more women are coming up to express themselves, to believe in themselves.
